Captain Andari Tren was the captain of the HMMS Aragard on its maiden journey to the human colony of Thanda I, in the 30th century. He meets the Doctor and Christina when the TARDIS lands on the ship, and the Aragard crashes shortly after. The ship lands on some unnamed planet, which the Doctor calls Dethak, and the crew aboard are preyed on by the Capareth, a species of alien that toy with their prey's minds by creating illusions. Andari ultimately sacrifices himself to detour the Capareth as the Doctor and Christina destroy the energy the aliens are feeding off.
